  • The fourth quarter of 2020 NIPN Newsletter is published and available online. This Newsletter in the message section summarizes the fourth quarter and the accomplishments of NIPN in the year 2020 despite the threats posed by COVID19. This Newsletter also gives an overview to two different NIPN webinars conducted during this quarter. In addition, the articles on the “Validation of Qualitative Dietary Intake Measurement Methods against the Reference Quantitative Weighed Food Record to Measure Minimum Dietary Diversity for Women in Ethiopia” and also an article which updates the progress on “The Ethio-Diet Project” will give an excellent overview on the respective nutrition projects.   • The third quarter of 2020 NIPN Newsletter is published and available online . This Newsletter gives an overview to different NIPN activities and gives insight to various important meetings and webinar presentations. The message from the coordinator reviewed the performance of this quarter and mentioned the remaining activities to be done in the last quarter of 2020. There are also overviews of analyses on the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH),  nutrition policy landscape in Ethiopia.   • The second quarter of 2020 quarterly NIPN Newsletter is published. The June Newsletter contains important timely articles in addition to other NIPN activities. This Newsletter, as usual, contains message from NIPN coordinator. The message summarized the key quarterly activities of NIPN despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and explains the coping measures taken to alleviate those challenges. The Newsletter also includes key NIPN performances that were accomplished during the quarter. One new feature is added in this Newsletter, that is, the inclusion of three different articles and analysis that gave evidence in the adolescent nutrition gap in Ethiopia, an analysis on NIPN’s response to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to inform the food and nutrition strategy and one very important article on identifying drivers of non-communicable diseases in Ethiopia.   • The first quarter of the 2020 NIPN Newsletter gives an insight to various events. The message from the coordinator explained the challenges and the impacts posed by the COVID-19 and the work scenario and possible mitigation methods applied by EPHI-NIPN during this quarter. The News part covers the second advisory committee meeting, the MER-SC workshop and the scientific writing trainings that were given to researchers. More information can be found here.

  • The third quarter of the NIPN Newsletter tells you the basic activities done to formulate policy-relevant questions which are related to nutrition. The Newsletter highlights the stakeholder consultative meeting held on the policy question formulation and their active participation in this regard. The coordinator message also shades some light on the quarterly performance of the NIPN project and the call for multi-sectoral engagement in this project.   • The Last quarter of the 2019 Newsletter summarizes the annual activities that were implemented by the project in its message from the coordinator section. This section gives an overview on the national nutrition event which took place on December 2019 in Ethiopia. It also includes two partner relation events that took place during this quarter; namely the mid-term review which was conducted with the NIPN technical partner IFPRI and the experience sharing meetings with the NIPN-Uganda team.   • The first quarterly NIPN Newsletter launched on March 2019. It contains message from NIPN coordinator and the technical partner IFPRI. The message reiterates the importance of reaching partners through an e-Newsletter and calls for active partnership engagement in the NIPN project. The Newsletter also includes different event News that had happened during the first quarter of the year. This issue also gives basic highlights on NIPN global facts and NIPN Ethiopia in brief.   • The second quarterly NIPN Newsletter covers the international health day conference and the NIPN nutrition policy and research seminar that was conducted during this event. NIPN exhibited itself for the first time in the exhibition booth during the event in which top government officials visited the exhibition organized for the event. In this issue, the coordinator delivered a message pointing out the basic activities that were performed during the quarter. The news section gives highlights of the events that took place in the second quarter. For instance, it also gives information on the first NIPN advisory committee establishment, NIPN exhibition, MER-SC workshop and additional training and seminar News among others.
