ADDIS ABABA – April 23, 2025 (EPHI) - Seqota Declaration (SD) Resilience Building Report (RBR), which is said to be essential for strengthening the resilience of African food systems and their transformation and for enhancing nutrition, was officially disseminated and launched here in the presence of senior officials, researchers, and experts from governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Welcoming participants of the event, Dr. Masresha Tessema, Director of Nutrition, Environmental Health and Non-Communicable Diseases Research Directorate at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), said that RBR, which is the result of extensive research, analysis, and collaboration, has brought together the expertise of numerous institutions and individuals drawn from Ethiopia and globally.
Dr. Masresha stated that the RBR provides crucial insights regarding the threats and barriers to resilience of SD, including opportunities and enablers for building resilience in food system transformation in SD.
He further stated that the RBR of the SD also provides key messages and recommendations for various stakeholders, including the government, development partners, the private sector, the research community, and the international community.
Mrs. Hiwot Dersene, lead executive officer of the Nutrition Coordination Lead Office at the Ministry of Health, officially launched the RBR. Hiwot has also given remarks and a way forward.
Over 30 participants attended the event held at the National Training Center of EPHI.
