ADDIS ABABA – June 28, 2024 (FSNRD/EPHI) - The Food Science and Nutrition Research Directorate (FSNRD) of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) is currently holding its annual review meeting to evaluate the performance of the 2023/24 Fiscal Year (FY)
Opening the meeting, Dr. Masresha Tessema, Director of FSNRD at EPHI, highlighted that the review meeting serves as an excellent platform to assess the overall performance of the directorate and to outline actionable plans for the upcoming 2024/2025 FY.
Dr. Masresha presented a comprehensive overview of the directorate's activities, emphasizing key achievements during the current budget year. Notable projects include the Seqota Declaration, the cascading of NIPN activities to Sub-National Regional Public Health Institutes, the implementation of Food-Based Dietary Guidelines, the Aflatoxin Project, and the Periodic Table of Food Initiative, which has positioned EPHI as a center of excellence in the East and Central Africa Region.
Over 60 participants from the directorate's five teams are deliberating on the 2016 Ethiopian Fiscal Year (EFY) annual report. The meeting, expected to conclude tomorrow, will also discuss the 2017 EFY annual plan set by the directorate.
